Record entries set high hopes for a successful event in 2022

The 2022 Nutrien Classic is on track to be their biggest event since it’s inauguration in 2008, with a record number of entries confirmed for the annual sale.

The 22% increase from the 2021 sale has the team at Nutrien Equine excited about the sale and how it will compare to previous years.

Nutrien Equine’s Darby Smith said; “It’s great to see so many entries in the Performance Horse sale for 2022. Each year, the sale gets bigger and bigger and 2022 won’t be any different”.

An increase in entries, will see the event increase from 10 to 11 days. Starting on Thursday 27 January and running until Sunday 6 February at Tamworth’s Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC).

2022 will be the 15th year, the Performance Horse Sale and Campdraft event has been held, and a full program of events has something for everyone. Back for 2022 are the; Open, Masters, Young Guns and Classic Campdraft and Finals, the Challenge, the Stallion Shootout, Store Cattle Sale and the Nutrien Classic Equine Sale.

“The program of events for 2022 will include all of the crowd favourites, including the highly anticipated Classic Campdraft and Sale. After the success of the 2021 Performance Horse Sale, both buyers and sellers are looking forward to see what next year brings”, Darby said.

Kicking off, less than one week after the Tamworth Toyota Country Music Festival wraps up, the Nutrien Classic is expected to draw in large crowds that will further contribute to the local Tamworth economy.

The Pub Group’s, Craig Power said; “It will be our 10th year supporting The Classic, and we have seen it grow to be one of our largest events outside of the Country Music Festival. The Classic has raised the profile of our city as a major equine events centre. This has led to lasting economic benefits to the whole community. The Nutrien Classic creates extra employment for individuals and local businesses, which in turn creates more enthusiasm from other organising bodies to use Tamworth’s great facilities.”

Nutrien Equine is pleased to see so many Performance Horse enthusiasts get behind this signature event each year.
“We saw a fantastic Classic in 2021, with record sales prices. The attendance was high and the quality of competition was second to none” said Darby. “We hope that everyone is excited for 2022 as we begin the countdown to day one of the Nutrien Equine Classic 2022.”
